Urban Ministries of Wake County provides food, healthcare, shelter, medication refills and referrals to other vital services in the community. Please browse our services below for more information.

FOOD PANTRY

we fight
hunger

We provide a week’s worth of groceries to each household that visits our pantry. The selection of food ranges from fresh produce to frozen meats to canned goods.

Our pantry is open Monday–Thursday starting at 8:30am

We close when we have reached our service capacity for the day.

EMERGENCY SHELTER

homelessness

The Helen Wright Center for Women provides shelter, meals and resources. Women can seek emergency shelter for 14 days, choosing to enter longer-term programs (when available) or rotate between participating area shelters.

CLINIC AND PHARMACY

The Open Door Clinic provides primary care and specialty care to adults without health insurance. We also have an on-site pharmacy which provides medication to our patients at no cost to them.
