The fourth Thursday of November is Thanksgiving. It’s a time for us all to sit back, relax, gobble delicious home-cooked food, and try to avoid getting into a heated debate with the family around the table. However, this is not what the turkey holiday is actually about. It is also a perfect time for us to reflect on everything we’re grateful for. As we celebrate turkey day, please take a moment with us to remember some of the reasons we’re thankful.
First, a round of applause for our volunteers, who are worth their weight in gold. We couldn’t do what we do without you. Volunteers are an integral part of our organization and make a huge impact on those we serve. Your willingness to devote countless hours of your time each year is greatly appreciated.
We’re thankful for our hardworking staff, who’ve devoted their careers to caring for others and show no signs of slowing down. We truly have the best team! Every business is only as good as the team that leads it, and they’re tireless advocates for the people we serve.
We’re thankful for our partners who stand tall for the community and go above and beyond. Your collaboration makes all the difference, and together we achieve more.
We’re thankful for our board members and donors who support and inspire us to set go-getting goals for our organization. Your service, generosity, and dedication to our community help drive our mission forward.
And most of all, we’re thankful for the opportunity to make life better for the people who live in Wake County. After all, that’s the reason our organization exists.
Thanks for all you do.
Together, we have all helped make Wake County a better place. Our gratitude is immense. Today, and every day, thank you. From the Urban Ministries of Wake County family to yours, we wish you and yours a great Thanksgiving.
